L'article se centre sur deux cas de figures problématiques de la relation entre le savoir
sociologique et l'action sociale, en la replaçant dans le mouvement général de la sociologie de l'éducation et sa vocation à s'intéresser de près au fonctionnement de la “boîte
noire”. On distinguera d'une part, des connaissances sociologiques qui, dans la situation

The Production of Sociological Knowledge and how it is appropriated This article focuses on two problematical issues concerning the relation between socio-logical knowledge and social action, by placing the relation in the general movement of the sociology of education and its vocation to examine attentively the functioning of the black box. A distinction will be made, on the one hand, between sociological knowledge which in the present day context mustn't, paradoxically, orientate action, and, on the other hand, knowledge which inversely cannot sustain it.
