Théocratie, dualisme et représentation sont les trois modèles de base que Jacob Taubes a utilisés pour tenter de singulariser et de déterminer historiquement le rapport complexe et fascinant qui existe entre la théologie et le politique. Cette tripartition conceptuelle a été reprise et élaborée par l'égyptologue Jan Assman, qui a orienté le débat sur la théologie politique vers un cadre historico-religieux plus ample.Pour aller encore plus loin dans la réflexion, l'objectif de cet article est de considérer l'application de ces trois modèles à la théorie politique islamique et à sa pratique. La réflexion proposée se base sur certains traits de la pensée politique du grand juriste et théologien Ibn Taymiyya et sur une première analyse des institutions politiques religieuses présentes à son époque. Theocracy, dualism and representation are the three basic patterns conceived by Jacob Taubes in the attempt to single out and historically define the complex and fascinating relationship between theology and politics. Jacob Taubes' tripartition has been reproposed and further elaborated by the egyptologist Jan Assman who has shifted the intellectual debate about political theology to a wider historical-religious discourse.By further broadening the scope of the inquiry, this paper aims at investigating the applicability of these three basic patterns to Islamic political theory and practice. The analysis is based upon some features of the political thought of great jurist and theologian Ibn Taymiyya and upon a brief survey of the religious political institutions of his time.
