Cet article discute du statut des compléments prépositionnels. L'auteur défend la thèse que, dans le cas des compléments prépositionnels du verbe, il n'y a pas désémantisation de la préposition, et propose une combinatoire qui dépasse la dichotomie « compléments argumentaux » / « circonstants » en distinguant différents degrés d'intrication entre le verbe et le complément prépositionnel. Partant d'une étude du verbe tirer associé à la préposition sur, l'auteur met en évidence des configurations régulières permettant de calculer le statut du complément prépositionnel dans la proposition. This paper deals with the status of prepositional complements. The author argues that in the case of the prepositional complements of the verb, there is no desemanticization of the preposition, and puts forward a set of combinatorial rules beyond the argumental / ‘circumstantial' complements dichotomy, distinguishing different degrees of linkage between the verb and the prepositional complement. Starting from an analysis of the verb tirer com bined with the preposition sur, the author develops a reasoning that allows one to calculate the status of the prepositional complement on the basis of regular configurations.
