Résumé anglais This study deals with the most frequent uses of the french marker bon in conversation. In this context, it can be observed that bon is in fact rarely used as an adverb marking agreement. Rather, it appears to function as a discourse marker. The central characteristic of such markers is that they provide information on the nature of the strategies at work in conversations. On the basis of spontaneous exchanges coming from three distinct corpora, we study the semantic status and function of uses of bon which cannot simply be defined as markers of speaker agreement. Rather, such occurrences indicate that the speaker agrees in part, but with underlying differences of opinion. Thus, they open a cooperative space of concession, rather than indicating true agreement. To conclude, we examine the position of the marker bon in the establishment of a cooperative space, which is crucial to the progression of interactive exchange.
