	Résumé	Ce dossier s'inscrit parmi les différents hommages rendus à l'Utopia de Thomas More à l'occasion du 500e anniversaire de sa publication. Il propose d'analyser, d'un point de vue sociologique, quelques propositions actuelles concernant l'éducation qui privilégient souvent l'éducation diffuse aux dépens des formes scolaires. À côté de l'enseignement formel, toutes sortes de relations –familiales, entre pairs, amoureuses et amicales, de travail domestique ou salarié, syndicales, coopératives, associations religieuses ou laïques, politiques, sportives, musicales, etc.– entraînent l'acquisition de connaissances et l'inculcation de valeurs. Dans cette galaxie de relations, les acteurs apprennent les tensions entre conformité et écarts et font l'expérience d'une dynamique, au cœur du fonctionnement social : la trans-formation concernant autant les savoirs que les valeurs et les engagements liés à un projet de dépassement du monde tel qu'il est.Le dossier rend plus compte de l'expérience des utopiens et utopiennes que des doctrines. Il décrit les liens entre des utopies en évolution et leurs acteurs en autotransformation (féministes, écologistes, néo-ruraux, communistes désenchantés, anciens combattants de la Première Guerre mondiale, fouriéristes français). L'incertitude de l'avènement d'un projet utopique renvoie ceux qui le portent à leurs capacités militantes : s'il n'y a pas de déterminisme historique allant dans le sens de l'utopie, l'espoir repose sur l'engagement volontariste. Dans certains cas, l'utopien-accoucheur se conçoit comme un instrument de l'histoire, une avant-garde éclairée ; dans d'autres, comme un inventeur imaginatif, engagé dans une construction sociale alternative. 	Résumé anglais	This report is part of the different tributes to Utopia by Thomas More on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of its publication. It proposes to analyse, from a sociological point of view, some current proposals regarding education which often favour diffuse education over academic forms. Alongside formal teaching, all types of relations –family, amongst pairs, love and friendship, domestic work or being an employee, being a member of a union, a cooperative, religious or secular, political, sporting, musical organisations, etc.– lead to the acquisition of knowledge and the inculcation of values. In this galaxy of relations, the actors learn of the tensions between conformity and straying from the straight and narrow and create the experience of a dynamic, at the heart of social functioning: Trans-formation concerns as much knowledge as values and the engagements linked to a project which strives to go beyond the current state of the world. The report takes more into account the experience of utopians than doctrines. It describes the links between utopias in evolution and their actors in self-transformation (feminists, ecologists, Neo-Rurals, disillusioned communists, veterans of the First Word War, French fouriéristes). The incertitude of the advent of a utopian project pushes those who promote it to affirm their militant capacities: if there is no historical determinism heading in the direction of utopias, there remains hope of a voluntary engagement. In certain cases, the utopian-giver of birth is designed as an instrument of history, an enlightened avant-garde, in other cases, as an imaginative inventor, engaged in an alternative social construction.
