Nous nous intéressons à la terminologie grammaticale figurant dans les dictionnaires courants de la langue générale, tels le Petit Robert et le Petit Larousse Illustré. La première partie de l'article évoque les aspects les plus problématiques de la terminologie traditionnelle. La deuxième partie décrit une méthode de révision visant à ce que soient conservées la plupart des dénominations traditionnelles avec d'éventuels changements de la définition, et au prix de quelques suppressions et ajouts. On grammatical terms in general language dictionaries : how to reform the terminology without changing the actual terms used. Our paper is a study of the grammatical terminology appearing in some current dictionaries such as Le Petit Robert and Le Petit Larousse Illustré. The first part points out the most problematic aspects of the usual terminology. The second part sets out a method of revision, which aims at retaining most of the traditional denominations, but with possible new definitions, and at the expense of few suppressions and additions of terms.
