Malgré la difficulté d'écrire l'histoire en cours, on peut présenter des éléments de périodisation, qui indiquent comment la sémantique cognitive est issue de l'Intelligence artificielle et de la psychologie cognitive (plutôt que . de la sémantique generative). Dans ces disciplines, la sémantique formelle a été contestée, au profit d'un mentalisme généralisé. Despite the fact that it is difficult to write the history of a field that is still developing, one can put forward some elements for a periodisation which indicates how cognitive semantics has emerged from Artificiel Intelligence and cognitive psychology (rather than from generative semantics). In these disciplines formal semantics has been contested and has been replaced by a general mentalism. Cognitive semantics is based on the principle that linguistic meaning consists in representations or mental processes, which led to it being aborbed either into psychology or into a spontaneous philosophy. In either case the fact of relating something linguistic with something mental has led to aporetical difficulties. The domain of space which is favoured by cognitive semantics offers an illustration hereof which sheds light on its links with transcendental esthetics. Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |
