Ouvriérisme et posture scolaire. La constitution des écoles élémentaires du PCF (1925-1936) Yasmine SiBLOT Les écoles élémentaires du PCF, destinées non aux cadres mais aux militants, ont été mises en place entre 1925 et 1936 comme un mode de formation qui vise à contrecarrer la valorisation des intellectuels en vigueur dans les partis socialistes. Elles se sont institutionnalisées au sein de l'appareil partisan grâce au travail de quelques responsables de l'éducation et ont une double caractéristique : elles sont le lieu de transmission d'une orthodoxie idéologique, et adoptent une pédagogie traditionnelle. Ces caractéristiques font des écoles un lieu de formation et de sélection de militants se conformant à une norme militante ouvriériste mais aussi paradoxalement scolaire et contribuent à la constitution de cette norme. Working Class Social Norms and Academic Stance. The Making of French Communist Party Elementary Schools (1925-1936) Yasmine Siblot Communist elementary schools, aimed at ordinary militants, were settled between 1925 and 1936 and were conceived as a mean of education for the workers, in order to reduce the predominance of intellectuals, that was strong in the Socialist Party. The schools were institutionalized thanks to the activities of a few leaders, and can be described through two main features : they are bound to convey an ideological orthodoxy, and are based on traditionnal teaching methods. Those characteristics contribute to the function of the schools : they select and train the militants who are close to the working class norm, but mainly among them those who meet the most the academic standards. Thus, communist elementary schools took an important part in the making of an implicit social norm in the PCF, both oriented toward working class values, and, paradoxically, academic.
