Trop consensuelle pour n'être pas ambiguë, la référence à une information réduite à l'état de catégorie générique, invite à une réflexion critique. Considérant l'information spécifique et son rôle dans les processus d'innovation se développant au sein des organisations industrielles, ce texte souligne les significations paradoxales et contradictoires des tendances observables. Celles-ci peuvent être examinées à partir de deux types de processus : l'un d'incorporation/matérialisation de l'information dans la production matérielle, l'autre d'explicitation/consignation d'informations spécifiques à partir de l'expertise et de ce qui se présente comme une élaboration cognitive collective. Information as a generic term is used at the same time both consensually and ambiguously and needs consequently to be criticized. Regarding specific information and considering its place in innovative processes within industrial organizations, this text highlights conflicting and ambiguous meanings of what may be observed. On the one hand there is a process materializing and incorporating specific information in material outputs, and on the other hand, there is another process clearly recording specific information, issuing from expertise and from what is not only collective learning by experience, but also on-the-spot collective production of knowledge.
