Après avoir publié plusieurs travaux sociologiques sur la réception et la pratique de jeux contemporains (jeux de rôles, jeux vidéo), l'auteur revient ici sur la permanence d'un processus éducatif, se résumant parfois à une volonté d'inculcation idéologique, au travers des activités ludiques. Dans cette perspective, il souligne l'apport de la démarche historique et la nécessité d'étudier les contenus de ces produits. Evoquant un certain nombre de biais attenant à la perception sociale du phénomène, il insiste également sur la nécessité de développer les recherches dans ce domaine, en soulignant l'apport d'instances de médiation culturelle (tels les musées) à la réflexion. After having published several sociological works on the reception and the practice of contemporary games (role playing games, video games), the author reconsiders here the durability of an educational process, being sometimes reduced to a will of ideological inculcation, through the games activities. From this point of view, he underlines the interest of the historical method and the need to study these products contents. Evoking a certain number of skew contiguous to the social perception of the phenomenon, he also insists on the need to develop research in this field, by underlining the contribution of cultural mediation institutions (such museums) to this thought.
