À partir d'une enquête ethnographique sur l'intégration des travailleurs chinois à la CGT (2009-2014), cet article analyse les frontières mouvantes de la « communauté » à travers la négociation, la régularisation et la résistance au travail dissimulé. Si l'entre-soi économique favorise l'insertion professionnelle des travailleurs immigrés, il ralentit cependant l'acceptation de la valeur du syndicat et freine la mobilisation, sauf lorsque la régularisation entre en jeu1. The Paradox of the Ethnic Enclave: Economical Groupism and Unions' Support of Chinese Undocumented WorkersDrawing on an ethnographic research of Chinese workers' integration to the French Union CGT (2009-2014), this article analyzes the shifting boundaries of the “community” through constant negotiation of informal work, regularization and resistance. Whereas the economic enclave facilitates the employment of migrant workers, it also sets back migrants' incorporation of a trade union culture and hinders mobilization.
