En 2009, la compagnie C (Cobra) du 2e bataillon du Royal 22e Régiment (Canada) a passé sept mois en mission de combat en Afghanistan, sous le commandement du major Steve Jourdain. Mon Afghanistan évoque le récit personnel d'un commandant de compagnie d'infanterie francophone en théâtre d'opération dans la région de Kandahar. Mon Afghanistan tells the biographical story of the commander of a French-speaking infantry company in the Kandahar region theatre of operations. Pulled from the first published memoirs of a francophone officer recounting his Afghan experience, this excerpt from Mon Afghanistan portrays the day-to-day life of C Company: the heat, the waiting, the patrols, the ambushes, the fear, and death itself. It depicts professionals aware of the perils of war, trying to complete a difficult mission that was often misunderstood both by the Afghan people and by Canadians themselves.
