La province du Balouchistan, frontalière de l'Afghanistan et de l'Iran, est la plus problématique pour l'avenir du Pakistan. En plus d'une insurrection nationaliste baloutche, et de velléités séparatistes pachtounes au nord, elle abrite dans sa capitale Quetta le noyau d'Al Qaïda et des talibans afghans. The province bordering Afghanistan and Iran, Baluchistan, poses the most significant problems to the future of Pakistan. A Baluchi nationalist insurrection and vague Pashtun separatist attempts in the north have mad this region an epicenter of dissension. To add to this legacy, Quetta, the regional capital, harbors the core of Al Qaeda and the Afghan Taliban. Baluchistan is likely to be the next site of serious confrontation.
