Résumé anglais Summary. The authors give account of the first results on their researches about the geomorphology of Central Sahara. The boundaries of several bioclimatic and morphodynamic areas : semi-arid, sub-arid, moderately and extreme arid, hyper-arid proper and extreme hyper-arid, are mapped along an itinerary going from Bechar and Beni-Abbes through Ahaggar and Air to Zinder and Gouré. Those areas are characterized in function of climatic indexes established in certain stations and of observations made on present morphogenesis, inheritances from the past, and aspects of vegetal cover. New data concerning the interpretation of ferricrusts lead to question the paleoclimatic significance of some of them. A project of geomorphological mapping at 1/200 000 and 1/500 000 is drafted.
