Résumé. - Le Caucase oriental (Azerbaïdjan et Daghestan) présente une grande diversité de conditions naturelles, surtout du point de vue morphostructural et climatique. Il s'oppose au Caucase occidental par son climat continental nettement plus sec, à l'exception du secteur de Zakataly où sont préservées de belles forêts de hêtres et de chênes. L'homme a très tôt occupé l'ensemble des versants pour les pâtures et surtout au Daghestan intérieur, pour la culture avec un exceptionnel aménagement en terrasses. Actuellement, c'est le piémont qui est profondément bouleversé par la politique de spécialisation en direction des vergers, de la vigne, du tabac dans le cadre de sovkhozes liés à l'industrie alimentaire et légère. Abstract. - The eastern Caucasus (Azerbijan and Dagestan) presents a great diversity in natural conditions, essentially from the morphostructural and climatological point of view. It differs from the western Caucasus in its dry continental climate and vegetation with the exception of the region of Zakataly where magnificient beech and oak woods are preserved. Men settled very soon on the whole slopes as pastureland and, particulary in the innern Dagestan, for cultivation with an exceptional extension of constructed terraces. Now'adays, the most impressive changes are on the piedmont where the landscape is transformed by the politics of specialization and intensification. Orchards, vineyards, tobacco, nuts are developped whithin the framework of new sovkhozes associated whith food-industry. Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |
