Résumé. - Après les épandages aréolaires villafranchiens, à l'origine d'un vaste glacis (Petite Hamada) dont les limites sont rectifiées, on assiste au Pleistocène moyen à une reprise de l'érosion linéaire qui donne naissance aux «grands oueds » de la Grande Hamada du Guir sur laquelle on distingue deux zones, de part et d'autre d'une ligne Mhreimine - Chefar el Ahmar. Au sud et à l'ouest de cette ligne le réseau hydrographique débouche sur la Petite Hamada où il abandonne ses déjections qui s'accumulent, alors qu'au nord et à l'est elles sont évacuées par le collecteur Guir-Saoura. Au Pleistocene supérieur, les «grands oueds» s'assèchent, au Sud de la ligne Mhreimine - Chefar el Ahmar, et sont remplacés par un système d'« oueds mineurs», tant sur la Grande que sur la Petite Hamada, et n'atteignent pas le collecteur régional. Au nord de cette ligne, on constate l'apparition de semblables menus drains en nombre réduit du fait que les «grands oueds» restent fonctionnels. Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |

Abstract. - Following the vast alluvial spreading of the villafranchian time which generated the Small (Lower) Hamada, the Middle Pleistocene was characterized by a resumption of linear erosion. It gave birth to the «large wadis» of the Ghir great Hamada (Higher Hamada). Within the latter two areas may be distinguished, on either side of a line Mhreimine - Chefar el Ahmar. To the South and West of this line, the hydrographie network ran into the Small (lower) Hamada where it immediately shed its ejecta which were thus left to accumlate on the spot, while to the North and East of the same line, they were avacuated through the Guir-Saoura Collector.
During Later Pleistocene, the «Large Wadis» were dried out South of the line Mhreimine — Chefar el Ahmar and were replaced by a system of «minor wadis», both on the Small and the Great Hamadas, were unable to reach the regional Collector. North of this line, similar small drains were developed, but they were fewer in number and «Large Wadis» remained functional. Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |
