Résumé anglais | The world as seen from Canada (1970-1990), Jacques Portes. Are the Canadians interested in world affairs ? The answer is doubtful if one looks at the space devoted to world affairs by the press and TV. The study of opinion poils and surveys reveals even more the clear limitation of their international horizon to the US and to a lesser extent to Great Britain, and to France for the Québécois. But behind this relative indifference lies in fact a sort of reverse image of Canadian identity whose contradictions and ambiguities are based on a feeling of widely shared national pride. | |
