How can a smartphone interact with our social life? Does this object contain the image of our contemporary world? Starting from these questions, the aim of this paper is to analyze the smartphone from a phenomenological perspective. I will use Simmelian categories from “The Handle” to find invisible roots hidden in the material of the object.
