Germany and the UN by Hans-Georg and Wolfgang Ehrhart The article analyses the relationship between the Federal Republic of Germany and the UN concerning peace politics The FRG having recovered full sovereignty after reunification finds itself obliged to abandon its policy of reserve in international peacekeeping and its participation in measures decided by the UN This article examines the German question regarding the UN as it was formerly posed the official position of the Federal government after reunification and the debate in domestic politics and constitutional law between the political parties on the subject of the question of engaging German armed forces outside Atlantic Alliance frontiers The authors support the argument that only compromise between parties will permit concilia tion between an active foreign policy and stable home policy Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |
