Cet article analyse les répertoires de la mobilisation autour d'une lutte de position entre divers protagonistes concernant des aménagements de l'espace urbain d'Aix-en-Provence et des répercussions de ces projets sur le patrimoine arboré. Le texte met en jeu, d'une part, les promoteurs d'un projet de construction de parking sous un jardin public – la Ville et ses représentants –, et, d'autre part, ses opposants – un collectif de vigilance citoyenne.La présentation du contexte général de la mobilisation accorde une place centrale au devenir de l'arbre en ville et aux contraintes du milieu urbain auxquelles il est confronté. L'enquête ethnographique privilégie l'angle analytique de la sociologie de l'action collective et de la sociologie de l'environnement. Cette démarche documente l'émergence de formes de savoir sachant et de savoir ordinaire qui entrent en jeu dans les dynamiques de mobilisation ainsi que l'émergence de logiques d'empowerment susceptibles de réorienter les projets d'aménagement. This article analyses the repertoires of the mobilization around a position struggle between various protagonists concerning the development of the urban space of Aix-en-Provence and the repercussions of these projects on the tree heritage. The text involves, on the one hand, the promoters of a project to build a car park under a public garden – the City and its representatives – and, on the other hand, its opponents – a collective of citizen vigilance.The presentation of the general context of the mobilization gives a central place to the future of the tree in the city and the constraints of the urban environment with which it is confronted. The ethnographic survey focuses on the analytical angle of the sociology of collective action and the sociology of the environment. This approach documents the emergence of forms of expert knowledge and ordinary knowledge that come into play in the dynamics of mobilization as well as the emergence of empowerment logics that can redirect development projects.
