The Guatemalan armed conflict, in its most violent years, is the context of the writing and publication of the poetry book El fin de los mitos y los sueños (1984) by Ana María Rodas. This paper focuses on the aesthetic work of the spaces in Roda´s poetry, in order to analyze the configuration of a female agency in the private and public sphere of that time. We postulate that El fin de los mitos y los sueños constitutes an early reflection on the epochal end of the armed conflict. The book itself, which we consider an iconotext, stands as a place of resistance and shelter amidst loving mourning and institutionalized violence. Source : Éditeur (via OpenEdition Journals) |
