Résumé anglais Abstract. — We ought to distinguish three sismic regions in the Western Alps. 1° The Briançonnais arc. Poorly deep focuses (30-40 km) are plumb over the orogene thickest part. Intensity is medium. 2° The Piemontese arc. Focuses are settled a little deeper (40-50 km), west side of the Ivea gravity crest, and they fall in with the overthrusted "Schistes lustrés". The dangerous Ligurian zone belongs to this arc. 3° The outer sismic regions. The rectilinear Chablais-Tricastin axis, on one hand, with superficial focuses ; Low Durance swarm, with pyrenean orientation, on the other hand. Therefore we do not notice, actually, any préalpine seismic arc.
