Résumé anglais Abstract. — Precipitations fall in high quantities upon the New- Zealand Alps (South Island), from 7 to 9 meters a year, 25 % of which are represented by snow. Notwithstanding mild temperatures, they give rise to many glaciers; but the run-off pattern of their emissaries is dominated by rain. Ice melt contributes about 10 %, snow melt 10 % and rain 80 % of their run-off.
