Abstract. — In recent years, cross-country skiing has had a success in France unanticipated by principal agents of downhill skiing, be they manufacturers, local officials, or planers. Still, cross-country skiing is an activity that both competes with and complements downhill skiing. This new sport is often practiced on more level ground between 1 000 and 1 500 meters altitude, providing additional tourism to the middle-range mountains of the Alps. Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |
