Connaître et mesurer la déprise ou le repli de l'agriculture peut faire appel soit au recensement général de l'agriculture (RGA), soit à l'analyse diachronique de l'occupation des sols par télédétection. La catégorie «terre en déprise» ou «terre abandonnée» n'existe pas dans le RGA. Celui-ci ne peut rendre compte exactement du phénomène. L'analyse par télédétection reste plus qualitative que quantitative, faute de repérage des parcelles par rapport au cadastre. The Vercors as Fallow Land? So What? Spatial Study of the Decline in Agriculture in 8 Communes of the Vercors Park To understand and quantify the abandoning or decline of agricultural practices it is necessary to either examine the general agricultural census (RGA) or conduct a diachronic analysis of land use using remote sensing methods. The category "agricultural land in decline" or "agricultural land abandoned" does not exist in the RGA. The census cannot really identify this phenomenon. Analysis by remote sensing remains more qualitative than quantitative, on account of the difficulty in identifying plots with respect to the map.
