Interglacial deposits in Belledonne range. In the southern part of the Belledonne range of the French Alps, interglacial sediments have been discovered at a height of 1 600 m. They are between 10 m and 15 m thick and are certainly the highest interglacial deposits observed so far in the entire Alps. They are covered by a Wurmian moraine and overlie on moraine deposits probably from the Riss. Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |
