Résumé anglais The restructuring of the winter sports goods industry. The winter sports goods industry is facing serious problems on account of difficulties brought about mainly by the current economic crisis. It is therefore having to undergo in-depth restructuring. This is being carried out in accordance with one main strategy : the production of a complete « skier's kit » comprising the three key items in the winter sports goods industry - skis, bindings and boots. But there are also other more far-reaching strategies which are aimed at reorganising the sector. Such strategies involve measures to diversify into other sports goods markets (tennis, golf, ATVs) or attempts to restructure capital (through speculation, nationalism or the integration of production lines). These strategies are also related to the consequences of changes in distribution structures, changes which have transformed the market into a bidders' market. The article concludes that, in such conditions, very profound and rapid changes are likely.
