En Algérie, la tendance à la fermeture des espaces résidentiels est en pleine expansion touchant tous les types d'habitat dont l'habitat collectif. L'objet de cet article est de lever le voile sur les logiques qui se profilent derrière ce besoin inhérent d'auto-enfermement résidentiel. Cette nouvelle manière d'habiter l'espace urbain révèle de nouveaux besoins de l'habitant qui ne peuvent être satisfaits qu'au sein d'un habitat fermé. Pour rendre compte de cette problématique, une enquête a été menée en se basant d'une part sur l'étude conceptuelle et d'autre part sur les entretiens exploratoires et le questionnaire. La ville de Batna en Algérie, et particulièrement le nouveau pôle urbain Hamla 1 et 2, constituera le terrain d'étude sur lequel porteront nos investigations. In Algeria, the trend towards the closing of residential spaces is booming, affecting all types of housing including collective housing. The purpose of this article is to unveil the logics that loom behind the inherent need of residential self–confinement. This new way of inhabiting the urban space reveals new needs of the inhabitant that can only be satisfied within a closed habitat. To report on this issue, a survey was conducted on the one hand on the conceptual study and on the other hand on the exploratory interviews and the questionnaire. The city of Batna in Algeria, and particularly the new urban pole Hamla 1 and 2, will constitute the field of study on which our investigations will be carried out.
