Conséquence des politiques d'ouverture programmées depuis un quart de siècle, le
langage politique arabe a intégré l'idée de société civile sans pour autant lui donner une forte consistance. L'expérience de l'application des accords d'Oslo a donné
à la société palestinienne l'occasion de consolider les institutions civiles qui lui
avaient permis, dans l'exil et pendant la première Intifada, de pallier l'absence de
pouvoir politique institué et d'organiser le pluralisme. En dépit de la faillite du
processus d'Oslo, la question est de savoir si ces conditions particulières ont facilité la construction d'un espace public promoteur de civilité et susceptible de fonder des différenciations politiquement créatrices. Source : Éditeur (via Cairn.info) |

The Palestinian experience of Oslo ( 1994-2000): the rhythm and syncopation of civil expression.
As a consequence of the policies of openness which have been organised over the
past twenty-five years, the Arabic political language has integrated the notion of
civil society without however giving it any extensive substance. The experience of
the application of the Oslo agreements gave the Palestinian society the opportunity
to consolidate the civil institutions which had permitted it, in exile and during the
first Intifada, to make up for the absence of instituted political power and to
organise pluralism. Despite the bankruptcy of the Oslo process, the question here is
whether these particular conditions facilitated the construction of a public space
