| Résumé |
Se référant à la fois à la sociologie des organisations et à la sociologie de la science, cet article présente une approche originale des conditions sociales de l'innovation technologique. L'auteur montre non seulement que les formes de rapports sociaux entre ingénieurs et techniciens, observées dans un centre de recherche industrielle, conditionnent le succès ou l'échec de l'innovation, mais aussi que la spécificité de la démarche expérimentale elle-même dans ce type de recherche est fortement associée à la structuration de ces rapports sociaux, ouvrant ainsi la voie à une analyse des interactions entre processus cognitifs et rapports sociaux dans le champ de la recherche-développement. Social build-up and technological innovation
Referring both to the sociology of organizations and the sociology of science, this article presents an original approach to social conditions for technological innovation. The author not only shows that the form of social relations observed in an industrial research center between technicians and engineers determines the success or failure of innovation, but it also shows that the specific character of the experimental process itself is strongly associated in this type of research to the structuration of these social relations.
