Cet article explore à la fois les thèmes de l'ambivalence et de l'allégorie dans la série télévisée «The Sinner», montrant l'importance cruciale de l'ambivalence dans la création de récits et les moyens de maintenir le public impliqué jusqu'à la dernière image. En effet, cette étude part de considérations sociologiques pour mettre en évidence l'importance de l'allégorie dans l'univers des séries télévisées et aussi la valeur de l'ambivalence comme instrument de complot pour maintenir une histoire vivante. This article investigates both the themes of ambivalence and allegory in the tv series “The Sinner”, showing the crucial importance of ambivalence in creating narratives and ways of keeping the audience involved until the last frame. Indeed, this study starts from sociological considerations in order to highlight the importance of allegory in the tv series' universe and also the value of ambivalence as plot device to keep a story alive.
