Les chercheurs en sciences de l'information et de la communication étudient de longue date le processus social par lequel des objets changent de statut pour acquérir celui de patrimoine. Envisagé depuis le présent, dans une forme de filiation inversée, le patrimoine est étudié parce qu'il nous renseigne sur les rapports que nous entretenons avec notre passé. Or, l'inclusion de l'immatériel dans le domaine patrimonial impose un bouleversement de ce modèle-type : la transmission de savoir-faire, rituels et coutumes implique en effet une continuité intergénérationnelle qui précède la production de savoirs institutionnalisés. En suivant les acteurs et les écritures médiatiques qui participent à cette transformation de l'immatériel en patrimoine, les textes réunis ici portent un regard singulier sur cette nouvelle catégorie d'objets et soulignent combien les pratiques info-communicationnelles sont au cœur de cette reconnaissance. Information and communication science researchers have long studied the social process by which objects change status to acquire that of heritage. Viewed from the present, in a form of reverse parentage, heritage is studied because it tells us about the relationships we have with our past. However, the inclusion of the intangible in the heritage domain requires an upheaval of this model: the transmission of know-how, rituals and customs indeed implies an intergenerational continuity which precedes the production of institutionalized knowledge. By following the media actors and writings who participate in this transformation of the intangible into heritage, the texts gathered here take a singular look at this new category of objects and underline how information-communication practices are at the heart of this recognition.
