Les grèves des ouvriers immigrés de l'automobile du début des années 1980 sont traversées par un sentiment de crise, plus ou moins fort selon les parties prenantes concernées. Pour les protagonistes industriels et étatiques, la nécessité de restructurer condamne une partie des ouvriers immigrés à devoir quitter les usines. Or, en participant aux conflits sociaux, les ouvriers immigrés de Citroën et Talbot agissent à contretemps de ce sentiment de crise. Les consciences différenciées de la crise traduisent des rapports variés au temps : le temps de crise est celui de l'inéluctable et du déterminisme industriel, auquel fait face le temps du conflit qui agit comme un temps du possible. The strikes by migrant automobile workers in the early 1980s were marked by a feeling of crisis. The strength of this feeling varied depending on the actors concerned. For the industrial employers and state officials, the need for restructuring condemned some of the immigrant workers to have to leave the factories. However, by taking part in social conflicts, the migrant workers of Citroën and Talbot acted against this feeling of crisis. The differenciated awareness of the crisis reflects varied relationships to time: the time of crisis represents unavoidable and industrial determinism.
