L'intégration des femmes dans les forces armées se présente comme un processus inabouti. Initié dès la Seconde guerre mondiale, il connaît une accélération avec la fin de la conscription et la professionnalisation des armées à la fin des années 1990. Ce n'est cependant qu'à partir des années 2010 que le sujet se constitue en problème public. La féminisation des armées françaises fait l'objet d'une volonté institutionnelle affichée. Elle continue néanmoins de rencontrer de nombreuses résistances au sein du monde militaire. Au-delà des logiques de reproduction de la discrimination sexiste, notre hypothèse est que la présence de femmes dans les armées, notamment lorsqu'il s'agit d'assumer des fonctions explicitement combattantes, vient bouleverser un ensemble de représentations mettant en péril le régime de masculinité hégémonique organisant les organisations militaires et légitimant le recours à la violence armée au nom du bien public. Women's integration in the French military appears to be an unfinished process. Initiated as early as the Second World War, it accelerated with the end of conscription and the professionalization of the armed forces in the late 1990s. However, it was not until the 2010s that the subject became a public issue. The feminization of the French military has been the subject of an explicit institutional commitment. However, it still encounters significant resistance within the military world. Beyond the logic of reproducing sexist discrimination, our hypothesis is that the presence of women in the military, especially when it comes to assuming explicitly combatant functions, upsets a set of representations that endanger the regime of hegemonic masculinity organizing military organizations and legitimizing the use of armed violence in the name of the public good.
