Cet article s'intéresse à ce que la propagande de guerre dénomme « guerre psychologique » depuis la Grande Guerre jusqu'au génocide rwandais en passant par les guerres coloniales de contre-insurrection (par exemple, en Indochine ou en Algérie). La guerre totale prend pour cible la population civile dans l'objectif de la terroriser par des bombardements. La guerre psychologique accompagne les interventions militaires des troupes régulières et les actes terrorisants des forces spéciales (assassinats, tortures, etc.). The propaganda of “psychological” warfare This article looks at what war propaganda calls ‘psychological warfare' from the Great War to the Rwandan genocide, including colonial counter-insurgency wars ( e.g. in Indochina and Algeria). Total war targets the civilian population with the aim of terrorizing it through bombing. Psychological warfare supports the military operations of regular troops and the terrorist acts of special forces (assassinations, torture, etc.).
