Poetry : Theory and Practice of Irrational Translation.
Speaking of form that convention calls poetry, the author opposes all linguistically oriented theories that exclude or attack the ineffable in literary translation. Translation is treated as an aspect of other activities, the movement of metaphor, the making of a poem, the origin of language itself. All show how both the mythic, irrational and the conscious, linguistic coexist in the elaboration of the ineffable emotional impulse, which the author asserts to be irreducible and unreplacable.
