| Résumé anglais |
The Image of Indians given by western films has deprived us of the critical authority of actual history. The first representations of Indians were of a literary and subjective nature, giving way to a more ambitious interpretation induced by Marxism, followed by contemporary structuralist criticism. These ideological stands generally entail a negative outlook on western films. Contrary to this, a pluralist approach brings to the fore a multifaceted image of Indians, pointing to the remarkable recent evolution of criticism. Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |
