Résumé anglais |
Unlike other ethnie minorities, or sexual minorities, and in spite of their numbers, Franco-Americans do not make themselves visible. Their history is one of gradual acculturation. But they are adamant that the French culture is still alive, although it was dramatically affected by social change in the 1950's. Most Franco-Americans think of their ethnic group as a success of the Melting Pot. But this rather tends to show that they are not ready to face their status as a minority.
