Le chimérisme permet d'élargir le concept d'« intelligence artificielle » vers celui de « cognition synthétique » − une approche qui met en question la dualité entre « artificiel » et « authentique », amplifie les méthodes de cognition non-humaines, et anticipe les modes de symbiose entre les dichotomies imposées. En subvertissant ce que l'on pourrait considérer comme naturel, le chimérisme permet de démêler l'« artificiel » dans l'intelligence artificielle et de mettre en avant la notion de « synthétique ». Drawing upon chimerism may help us broaden the concept of “artificial intelligence” into “synthetic cognition”—an approach that highlights the duality of “artificial” and “authentic”, amplifies non-human methods of cognition, and anticipates modes of symbiosis between imposed dichotomies.
