Dans cet entretien, Didier Georgakakis est interrogé par Marylou Hamm sur son parcours en tant que représentant des intérêts de la science politique puis des sciences humaines et sociales auprès des institutions européennes. L'objectif est de revenir sur une séquence de presque 10 ans ayant abouti à la construction du Cluster 2 dédié aux SHS et au triplement de son budget lors des négociations d'Horizon Europe en 2021. À mi-chemin entre témoignage ethnographique et anthropologie réflexive, cet échange ouvre une nouvelle perspective sur l'élaboration de la politique européenne de recherche en SHS. Ce faisant, il explore les conditions dans lesquelles le savoir scientifique peut être mobilisé pour l'action ou la pratique politique et les effets retours de cet « investissement dans la domesticité du champ » sur l'approfondissement théorique du champ institutionnel de l'UE. In this interview, Didier Georgakakis reflects with Marylou Hamm on his career as an advocate for the interests of political science, and later the social sciences and humanities, within the European institutions. The conversation revisits a decade-long trajectory that culminated in the creation of Cluster 2 dedicated to the social sciences and humanities, and the tripling of its budget during the Horizon Europe 2021 negotiations. Situated at the intersection of ethnographic testimony and reflexive anthropology, this exchange offers new insights into the making of European research policy in SHS. It examines the conditions under which scientific knowledge can be mobilised for political action or practice, while also considering the reflexive implications of this “investment in the domesticity of the field” for the theoretical development of the European institutional field.
