Les travaux consacrés aux entourages ou au personnel politique ont montré l'importance du phénomène du pantouflage considéré comme le départ définitif d'un agent du public dans le privé. Un nouveau phénomène, le rétro-revolving doors, fait d'allers et de retours entre le public et le privé, concerne les agents du champ du pouvoir avec une nouveauté : ils tiennent un temps des postes de représentants d'intérêts. Ce poste reconnu par la loi Sapin II en 2016 est l'occasion d'analyser un processus qui lui confère sa crédibilité : la valorisation continue du capital politique qui offre à ces détenteurs autant d'occasions de travailler dans le privé que de revenir dans le public. Studies of political entourages and staff have shown the importance of the phenomenon of “pantouflage”, where an employee moves permanently from the public to the private sector. A new phenomenon, retro-revolving door, which involves people going back and forth between the public and private sectors, concerns those in positions of power, with the novelty that for a time they hold positions as interest representatives. This position, which was recognised by the Sapin II Act in 2016, provides an opportunity to analyse a process that gives it credibility: the ongoing development of political capital, which gives these people as many opportunities to work in the private sector as to return to the public sector.
