Il existe dans l'imaginaire des sociétés modernes occidentales une domination du concept de propriété privée qui a pour effet indirect de poser des œillères à la réflexion sur les alternatives propriétaires. Contre cette tendance, cet article revient au concept même de propriété dont il analyse la structure pour en montrer le caractère intrinsèquement ouvert et fécond. La propriété est définie comme une structure relationnelle à trois termes configurant les rapports au monde des individus en fonction des représentations imaginaires de chaque société. Cette approche permet de souligner l'influence des rapports de propriété sur la relation des individus aux choses et à l'espace, sur leur perception d'autrui, ainsi que sur les affects éprouvés dans ces relations, et d'ainsi nourrir la réflexion marxiste sur la propriété, le propre et le commun. The concept of private property dominates the imaginary of modern Western societies. This domination has the indirect effect of inhibiting critical thinking about alternatives to private property. Against this tendency, this article returns to the very concept of property, analysing its nature and structure to show how intrinsically open and fertile it is. Property is defined as a three-term relational structure that shapes an individual's relation to the world according to the imaginary representations of each society. This approach supports a broader understanding of property relations that highlights how they shape one's relationship to things and social spaces, to their perception of other members of the society, and even to the affects experienced in these social relationships.
