Cet article montre qu'une mobilisation collective hors ligne « Flower Demo », débutée en 2019 avec les hashtags #WithYou et #MeToo, a bénéficié d'une grande visibilité dans la presse et a ainsi contribué à légitimer la médiatisation des « violences sexuelles » (VS) au Japon. L'enquête s'appuie sur une analyse qualitative des articles de l'Asahi et le Yomiuri, les deux quotidiens japonais les plus distribués dans le pays. Le cadrage médiatique des revendications met en avant la seconde réforme du Code pénal en matière d'agressions sexuelles. Ce cadrage donne ainsi une certaine légitimité aux témoignages de victimes de ce mouvement et à la couverture des « VS », malgré un effet encore limité de #MeToo dans le pays. Based on news articles, this study aims to understand how the #Me Too movement has developed and organized in Japan. By highlighting the Japanese social and legal context of “sexual violence,” this study shows that Flower Demo, an offline mobilization which began in 2019 with the hashtags #WithYou and #MeToo, enjoys high visibility in the press and thus has helped increase the media coverage of “sexual violence.” This study is based on a qualitative analysis of articles from the Asahi and Yomiuri, the two most widely distributed daily Japanese newspapers. The framing of the claims by the media is structured around the second reform of the Criminal Code's articles that concern sexual assault. This link gives a certain media legitimacy to the victims' testimonies and the coverage of sexual assault, despite the still-limited impact of #MeToo in the country.
