La Confédération générale du travail unitaire (CGTU) est la principale organisation de la galaxie communiste. De 1922 à 1936, elle groupe plusieurs centaines de milliers de militants qui forment l'ossature du Parti communiste, qui fixe ses orientations et la dirige. L'imbrication du PCF et de la CGTU est particulièrement visible dans le département du Pas-de-Calais, où la CGTU apparaît comme l'héritière du syndicalisme révolutionnaire et entretient des relations conflictuelles avec la CGT confédérée et son syndicat des mineurs. Combatifs lors des mouvements de grève, attachés à l'antifascisme et fervents partisans de la réunification syndicale, les militants de la CGTU du Pas-de-Calais ont développé une culture syndicale originale, qui influencera la CGT réunifiée en 1936, puis, à la Libération, en 1945. The General Confederation of Unitary Labor (CGTU) is the main organization of the communist galaxy. From 1922 to 1936, it brought together several hundred thousand activists who formed the backbone of the Communist Party which set its orientations and directed it. The overlap of the PCF and the CGTU is particularly visible in the department of Pas-de-Calais where the CGTU appears to be the heir of revolutionary syndicalism and maintains conflictual relations with the confederated CGT and its miners' union.Combative during strike movements, attached to anti-fascism and fervent supporters of union reunification, the activists of the CGTU of Pas-de-Calais developed an original union culture which would influence the reunified CGT in 1936, then, at the Liberation, in 1945.
