Keynes et Simon parcourent tous deux, à cinquante années de distance, un chemin épistémologiquement très proche. Tous deux élaborent une théorie de l'action rationnelle présentant des caractéristiques communes (intuitive, empirique, non calculatoire). Cette théorie les amène à prendre conscience du rôle des institutions sur le plan cognitif et, partant, sur celui de la coordination. Enfin, leurs deux théories se bouclent sur une même défense du rôle d'une certaine coercition sociale et politique, quoique sous une forme très différente. Keynes and Simon traverse all two, fifty year from distance, an epistemologically similar way. Both work out a theory of the rational action presenting very closed characteristics (intuitive, empirical and in a non calculative form). This theory leads them to become aware of the role of the institutions on the cognitive and coordinating level. Finally their two theories insist on the needing of a certain social and political coercion, though in a very different form. This parallel course indicates the way to us to be followed : we have to stress the lay on the ethical dimension of the economic institutions.
