Agriculture et condition des femmes
- Bilan critique des recherches sur les agricultrices en France - Rose-Marie Lagrave p. 9-40 Researches on French Women farmers Summing up researches on French women farmers from a pluri- disciplinary corpus has let out two findings : — the fact that researches has been focusing on two topics : work and family, which were separately analysed for the most part and happened to be lines of division of the disciplines themselves ; — the lack of theorical connection between work and family comes to the conclusion that men and women relationship in agriculture are complementary. When considered in a second step through anthropological and feminist contributions, these researches showed the functionnalist point of view of such a problematic which is hiding the relationship based on power and dominance between masculine and feminine functions and parts when describing them symatricaly.
- Les fonctions sociales de l'enseignement agricole féminin - Juliette Caniou p. 41-56 The chief functions of the agricultural Education for girls Until the modernization of agriculture, about I960, the chief functions of the agricultural Education for girls (under the control of the landed gentry, then bourgeoisie's) was to stop rural exodus, to augment natality, to create the cult of rural home. Its finality was domestic education, not agricultural professional ability. When the agriculture became industrialized, this Education fulfills new functions, but it does not permit the professionalization of women in agriculture. To elucidate this gasp between the formation and the needs of abilities, it's necessary to know the status of the peasant women in production's relations of the type domestic and capitalistic.
