This text describe the monetary conceptions of German Neo-Liberals who symbolise the revival of German economic thinking during and after the fifties. A theoretical justification of cental bank independence appears of this conception: the independence is seen as an element of the separation of powers in the State. In the perspective of construction of an independent European central bank, this argument seems to be important for examining the question of independence from different points of view.
