Champ scientifique et champ politique. En introduction, on tente de répondre à quelques-uns des problèmes fondamentaux que pose l'étude du parti communiste français : le rapport à l'objet, les caractéristiques que le champ de production sur le communisme doit aux propriétés des agents qui le dominent, les précautions requises dans l'utilisation des mémoires, les difficultés de l'entretien. Bref, on a cherché à fournir une grille de lecture des premiers résultats d'une recherche et à se situer dans ce champ de production spécifique qui renvoie immédiatement au champ politique. The Scientific Field and the Political Field : Studying the French Communist Party. The author seeks to answer some of the fundamental problems which arise in studying the French Communist Party. These are : the analyst's relationship to the object ; the characteristics which the field of production of works on communism derives from the properties of the agents who dominate it ; the precautions which have to be taken in drawing on memories ; the difficultes of interviewing. In short, she aims to provide a grid to facilitate interpretation of her initial research findings and to situate herself within a field of production which has direct connections with the political field.
