The future of the Italian society by Henri Mendras and Sylvain Meyet. For a long time, North had the lowest fertility rate of Europe which was compensated by the strong rate of the Mezzogiorno, which now is on the way to join that of North. If this situation goes on, the country population will drop by 50 % in fifty years.
The expansion of voluntary associations in Poland by Anna Sianko. In the last period of the socialist power, the associations quickly multiplied. They were often used as a relay to an administration overflowed by the changes. They are often in rebellion against this administration, so much that the movements of protests became increasingly numerous. This vitality of the “social capital” explains partly the smooth transition towards capitalism and democracy.
The local systems of production in Europe by Henri Mendras. The corporate networks, supported by municipal, regional institutions and marketing networks, have developed and multiplied in various forms in several European countries. Source : Éditeur (via Cairn.info) |
