Le conflit pétrolier franco-algérien, par Nicole Grimaud
Après seize mois de négociations, le gouvernement algérien annonce le 24 février 1971 la prise de la majorité au sein des sociétés pétrolières françaises opérant sur son sol ainsi que la nationalisation intégrale des gisements de gaz naturel et des pipelines. La crise est coûteuse financièrement pour les deux parties bien qu'à court terme l'opération s'avère avantageuse pour l'Algérie. Au plan politique, cette crise illustre l'ambiguïté et les contradictions qui n'ont cessé d'exister entre la politique de coopération et la politique pétrolière françaises.
